Utah Entrepreneur Challenge

The final stage of the Utah Entrepreneur Series, the Utah Entrepreneur Challenge is one of the largest business plan competitions in the nation. The Challenge focuses on the development of a full, comprehensive business plan, which will be analyzed and judged by leaders within Utah’s business community. Participants often advance to create successful business start-ups.

University students from across Utah are eligible for entry. Participants can enter either as a team or on an individual basis. The winning business plan will be awarded $40,000 for business start-up.

Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013	Executive Summary Submission Due by 5:00pm Deadline is strictly enforced.
Monday, Feb. 11, 2013	Announcement of the Top 30 Teams Top 30 will be announced on the UEC homepage and via e-mail.
Monday, Mar. 4, 2013	Business Plans and video Due by 5:00pm Deadline is strictly enforced.
Monday, Mar. 11, 2013	Announcement of the Top 10 Final 10 will be announced on the UEC homepage and via e-mail.
Tuesday, Mar. 19, 2012	Mentors Workshop at Pierre Lassonde Center As part of the UEC mentorship program, the top 10 will meet with assigned professional mentors from across the state of Utah to better prepare teams’ business plans before submission. Starts at 7:00pm.
Saturday, Mar. 30, 2013	Finalist Presentations The top 10 finalists will present the key aspects of their business plans and finish with a Q&A session, which will be conducted by the judges before final decisions are made for the $40,000 prize.9:00am-2:00pm
Tuesday, Apr. 9, 2013	Final Awards Banquet The Utah Entrepreneur Challenge 2012-2013 will be announced at a formal banquet held at Rice-Eccles Stadium Tower. This event is by invitation only. 5:30pm-9:00pm
